Refrigerant Recovery & Recycling FAQ

IRRI
What can your company do for me or my business?
We come on-site and safely and properly evacuate the refrigerant from any Freon bearing device that is being recycled. We then leave you the proper documentation to verify the completion of the job.
Can you help my company with its green recycling goals?
Yes, we work with a lot of companies are reaching their goals. Not only do we show them how to improve the recycling quantities, but we also supply them with the breakdown of specific materials and refrigerants and how much of each was recycled.
What happens to Freon where does recovered?
It is brought back to the shop and tested for purity at our in-house lab. It is then transferred into larger D.O.T. approved tanks and shipped to the appropriate recycling facilities.
Do we need to wait around all day for you to show up?
No, we will either give you a timeframe that we will be on-site to perform the service or as in the case of a lot of the facilities that we service, we are given a set of keys or make arrangements for it to be unlocked for us and we will and lock it up after we are complete.
How do we pay you?
All billing is done from the office after the job is completed and does not need to be paid at the time of service. For your convenience we accept all major credit cards.
What will you service cost us?
Please fill out the job quote form and send it to us for pricing and scheduling. You will find is very competitive and convenient.
Will you go beyond your normal service area?
Yes, depending on the size and scope of the job we will go wherever we are needed.
How much refrigerant is in an average appliance?
New refrigerators, average, one to 2 ounces of Freon per unit, dehumidifiers and air conditioners contain much more generally around one to 1 1/2 pounds of refrigerant.
Don't you make a lot of money selling the Freon that you collect?
No, it is actually against the law to sell it, unless it is tested by ARI certified company and a test out to be 99.9% pure or better. Our mission is to recover the Freon and prevent it from being released into the atmosphere and destroying the ozone layer, thereby providing a better and safer future for our children.
Isn't it against the law to use Freon?
No, there are many types of Freon and although some have been discontinued from manufacturing day I still recycled and resold. Even the older R12 that was used in the older cars and refrigerators can still be purchased. Although you must be specially licensed to buy it and use it.
What appliances have mercury in them?
Some of the appliances with mercury in them are chest freezers with a light in the lid, and it is not a separate switch directly to light, older stoves that have a pilot ignition and a standing pilot in the oven, sump pumps that have a flexible tube where the on and off switch is, and the list goes on, there are mercury switches in applications that would surprise you.
How much lead time do you need to come out?
Generally, we can be on your side within 48 hours or less of calling, so we can put your schedule either daily or weekly monthly or as needed, depending upon your requirements.
